Advocacy: Priority Issues

Since 1878, PennAg informs, educates and advocates for agriculture so, agribusiness
can grow and prosper.

Our members of Pennsylvania’s leading industry, agribusiness, want to operate in a state that allows them to thrive and grow.

Pennsylvania’s issues transcend local, state and national levels. We urge lawmakers to pursue a public policy agenda that will improve the Commonwealth’s agriculture climate and reinforce optimisum among Pennsylvania agribusiness. Our member -driven advococay driven is outlined below.


Key Priority Issues


We advocate for all aspects of animal disease readiness and response, including commercial composting.

We support all efforts to educate consumers and our new state House and Senate legislators on issues important to the PennAg membership. 

We represent our members on nutrient management matters at the state and federal regulatory level, from land applications to the Chesapeake Bay and WOTUS (Waters of the United States).

We advocate for all our members’ interests regarding oversight on State & Federal ag policy matters. 

We support our membership through advocacy and by securing answers to complex transportation and infrastructure questions and concerns related to agribusiness.

We advocate for workforce needs and stability to ensure our members’ competitiveness in industry.
