Councils & Committees

PennAg recognizes that each agribusiness has a distinct set of needs as unique as their own operation and goals.

All PennAg members are eligible for membership in one or more of the eight, autonomous PennAg councils. Each council is provided with PennAg staff support and coordination. Current PennAg councils include: Agronomic Products; Aquaculture; Feed, Grain and Allied Industry; Horse; Manure Haulers/Applicators; Poultry; Seed; and Swine.

In addition to general benefits offered by PennAg, the council structure allows the association to work with industry members to promote food safety, increase member involvement in commodity promotion, and expand and enhance relationships with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and other regulatory agencies.

Each council meets regularly to address issues unique to their members. Council actions are forwarded to the Board as recommendations. When approved, they become association policy.

Five standing committees also address industry issues and association operations. The committees include: Executive, Legislative, Membership, Transportation and Workforce.
